ABOUT ME

My name is Elliot, and I believe that studying music can break down barriers between people.

PROFESSIONAL BIO:

I studied Improvisation and Piano with Paul Bley and Danilo Perez, Composition and Musicianship with Hankus Netsky, Michael Gandolfi, James DeMars and Rodney Rogers. My Bachelors degree is from New England Conservatory of Music (jazz composition), Masters from NYU (composition) and Doctorate (composition) is from Arizona State University.

I have had compositions featured on tv shows and commercials, as well as performed at Lincoln Center, Jordan Hall, and Gammage Auditorium.

I have performed around the world in jazz and vocal music settings with groups such as Michael Arenella’s Dreamland Orchestra, Asiko Afrobeat, Sunroom, The Rhapsody Players and Players Handbook. My one-man show “My Brother George” about George and Ira Gershwin featuring Rhapsody in Blue was performed up and down the east coast in 2013. I currently reside in Lewiston, NY with my daughter, big dog, and two cats.
